Choosing a Class

The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way.  Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling.  If you have concerns about your child?s success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your child?s needs and to work with you to place her/him in the best class.

Register Early

Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly.  Registering at least two weeks before the semester begins also ensures that I will have you child's materials for you at your first class.  There is a discount for early bird registration (3 weeks before the first class).  If you enroll after the semester begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly. 

Enrollment Confirmation

You will receive a phone call and e-mail or mailed welcome letter within 1 week to confirm your registration. A registration form and payment must be received before enrollment can be confirmed.

Make-up Classes

Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness or inclement weather.  We will follow the local School District decision on closings unless I call you.  I will notify you of the scheduled makeup day.

Refunds

Tuition refunds or credit vouchers may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class.  All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis.  The At Home Materials can only be returned unopened.  There is a non-refundable fee for materials ($29-57) and processing ($20).

Free Visits

I am always happy to schedule a free visit in one of my classes, just give me a call.  Bring a friend and earn a $15 referral credit when they register!  My Kindermusik families are my best PR.  My way of saying thank you is to give you a $15 credit towards the next semester each and every time your name appears on the Registration Form of a new student.

Non-enrolled Siblings

Siblings not enrolled in classes or enrolled in a different class, are welcome in my Kindermusik classroom, as long as they are not disruptive to the learning process for others.  Just keep in mind that the child who is registered in a Kindermusik class requires your full attention and participation.  Unattended children may not be left in the waiting area.  Should a problem arise because of a sibling, I will speak with you privately.

Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes

Plan to arrive a few minutes early for class.  Arriving a little before class begins provides time for your child to settle into the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music. 

I do request that toys, food and drink be kept out of sight and that snacks be finished before arriving at class.  This avoids jealousy, accidental breakage, and loss of personal belongings. 

Be sure to dress comfortably.  During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model.  By the way, I love for parents to visit before or after class, but not during class please.  When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will focus more fully too.

It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable.  Don't be discouraged. What a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment rather than in a certain level of participation in class.  You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you enjoy your At Home Materials throughout the week. This makes all the difference in a child's comfort and participation in the classroom.
